Enhanced data management and B2B sales

Task

From product data to e-commerce

Kryta offers a wide range of spice products to customers in the Nordic region. They wanted to strengthen the management of their product information. We introduced them to Product Information Management (PIM) and discussed how a PIM system could benefit them.

With a PIM system, Kryta can gather all product data in one place, optimize the workflows for creating and maintaining product information, and easily distribute data to other channels, such as through product feeds with selected data in different formats. The result is a more efficient workflow and improved product data, which ultimately provides their customers with a better experience.

SMB:Digital

Kryta decided to start a PIM project and chose to apply for funding from the SMB:Digital grant pool. As an approved advisor with in-depth knowledge of the grant pools, we assisted them in the application process.

They were awarded funds for market exploration and advice on choosing technology and platforms. The grant was also used to familiarize Kryta with the use of PIM afterwards.

Kryta’s SMB:Digital grant was spent on consulting and training within PIM technology.

PIM and e-commerce

Kryta appointed us to advise them on technology selection, and after closely examining their needs and requirements, we recommended a PIM solution from DynamicWeb.

Early in the PIM project, it became clear that Kryta also wanted an e-commerce solution, so the project was expanded to include a webshop, where data is delivered from the new PIM system and Kryta’s financial system.

About

A world of spices

Kryta A/S supplies spices and ready-made blends to retailers, foodservice, and the industry in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland.

Their product range includes pure spices, spice blends, chopped herbs, and specially developed functional blends for, for example, convenience products.

Kryta has 700 different basic spices and ingredients on their shelves, which they use to create customized blends in close collaboration with their customers.

Solution

A digital upgrade

The task started as an independent PIM project, where the goal was to gather data in one place. Since there was a high likelihood that Kryta would also need to use PIM with a webshop in the future, the PIM system was built to support that purpose as well.

This turned out to be a great idea, as the task later expanded to include a B2B webshop.

We have built and implemented an integrated DynamicWeb solution for Kryta, based on Swift and standard PIM and webshop functionality with a few customizations.

When logging into the webshop, customers can view customer-specific assortments and prices, and the solution is prepared to run with multiple languages. For now, only the Danish version is in use.

The solution focuses on allowing the customer to shop in different packaging types, such as cans, boxes, and pallets.

QuickPay has been implemented as the payment solution in the webshop, enabling card payments and MobilePay.

We assisted with the basic layout setup in the webshop and made customizations to Swift regarding category and product displays, as well as enabling the ability to print recipes.

Integration

In order to display the desired data, the solution includes an integration with Kryta's ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, from which customer-specific prices and stock status are fetched in real-time.

Training

We have trained Kryta in DynamicWeb and shown them how to work with PIM and Swift, so they can create pages, set up layouts, and maintain web content, as well as create customer-specific assortments. The goal of the training is to make them self-sufficient and ready to manage the solution in their daily operations.
